Fostering success for every IU student
In January of 2022, President Pamela Whitten created the cabinet-level position of Vice President for Student Success, marking the first time a member of the cabinet is focused on comprehensive student support. A national search was successful in hiring Julie Payne-Kirchmeier, Ph.D., CASP who started in this role in August of 2022.
The Office of the Vice President for Student Success began by realigning several departments to work directly with OVPSS, and to assist in the support for campus student affairs leaders.
